What AskFam keeps
In plain words, because a privacy policy nobody can read is not really telling you anything.
Asking for help
You do not need an account, and we do not ask for your name or your email. What we keep is what you typed, the suburb you chose, what we worked out you needed, and whether it turned out to help. That last part is the whole reason AskFam exists — it is how we find out which kinds of help are hardest to get, and where there is nothing at all.
What goes to OpenAI
Working out what you need is done by an AI model run by OpenAI, so the words you type are sent to them to be read and categorised. Nothing else goes with it — not your email, not your name, not who you are. Under their API terms that text is not used to train their models. If you would rather nothing you write left AskFam, use the Browse tab instead.
Posting a job
A job needs a way to be reached, so this one does collect real details: your name, your email, and a phone number if you give one. Your email and phone are never shown on the job. They are handed to one provider, once, at the moment you accept their offer.
Who else is involved
- OpenAI — reads what you type.
- Google — when we show businesses near you, your suburb and the kind of help are sent to Google Places. Nothing about you goes with it.
- Amazon Web Services — stores the database and sends the emails.
- Cloudflare — serves the site.
- PayPal — only if you choose to chip in. We never see your card.
Nobody buys this data. There is no advertising on AskFam, no tracking pixels, and no analytics following you elsewhere.
What we will never hold
No diagnoses, no medications, no clinical notes. The product has no field to put them in, and requests that touch medical ground are deliberately handed to a nurse, a GP or a service that is qualified for them.
Having it deleted
Email [email protected] and say what to remove. AskFam is run by Circlo.Space in Perth, Western Australia, and is covered by the Australian Privacy Principles.
